Welcome to Literacy with Mrs. Long! My name is Diana Long, and I am so happy to have you here! On my page, you will find literacy resources and tools that support students' reading and spelling in school or at home. With both virtual and in-person tutoring offerings, I provide a supportive environment that nurtures a love of literacy and fosters academic confidence and success.
My Story
As early as three years old, “reading” Green Eggs and Ham, upside down, to my new baby sister, I have been a teacher. Through high school Spanish and after-school lessons with my sisters in our tree house, I knew I wanted to work with a diverse range of learners. My whole life has been a journey to learn and teach in some capacity. I have always loved literacy and have a passion for sharing it with others. It has never been a doubt in my mind that this is what I was born to do.

I have been in education for over 15 years, starting as a literacy tutor for Second Language Learners, to working as a classroom teacher for grades 4 through 6, and most recently supporting students in all subjects grades K-12. Though I have taught all subjects to a variety of grades, my love remains with literacy. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, visiting the beach, and of course---reading.
